A small zoo run by an Art Director, nine animals, and an unreasonable amount of curiosity.
Victoria Lin
Zookeeper / Art DirectorI’m an Art Director who likes making things, looking at things, and occasionally asking “but why does that work that way?”
When I’m not turning briefs into ideas, you’ll probably find me snowboarding, crocheting, fishing, or taking care of plants.
And then there are my nine roommates.
They’re not particularly helpful with deadlines, but they’ve taught me a lot about observation, personality, and the art of making an impression.
Popeyes
Ragdoll cat · 7 years in residenceHead of Security
Popeyes takes her job very seriously. She patrols the house, announces suspicious strangers passing the door, and stands guard while everyone sleeps.
Her specialty, however, is making a guest appearance whenever there’s a meeting.
MOUSE & CONTROLLER
Rats · social butterfliesDon’t let the name fool you. These two are less interested in computers and more interested in everyone.
They love baths, meeting new friends, and saying hello to Popeyes—despite being considerably smaller than the head of security.
Social skills: excellent. Personal boundaries: nonexistent.
SAKURA
Pink albino corn snake · professional braceletSakura likes watching TV and occasionally cosplaying as a bracelet.
She’s pink. She’s flexible. She has no interest in your opinion.
Honestly, she may have invented wearable art.
Maurizio
Crested gecko · banana enthusiastMaurizio enjoys two things: bananas and being perceived.
He has no known interest in conversation, personal branding, or explaining his artistic choices.
He may, however, be a fan of Maurizio Cattelan.
Or perhaps he simply appreciates the banana as a medium.
MOCHI & CIRCLE
Hamsters · tiny celebritiesTheir skill set is highly specialized:
Being cute.
And, frankly, they’re very good at it.
PEACOCK
Betta fish · full-time narcissistNamed Peacock because he looks like one, and because he seems to know it.
He has his very own mirror, where he spends a suspicious amount of time admiring himself.
His hobbies include: looking at Peacock, being Peacock, and looking at Peacock.
PRINCE FROG
Pacman frog · hopeless romanticHe doesn’t eat his food.
He kisses it.
So naturally, his name is Prince Frog.
True love may be complicated. Dinner should not be.
WHAT THIS ZOO SAYS ABOUT ME
I like things with character.
I like noticing the tiny details that make something—or someone—distinctive. I like finding unexpected connections, turning ordinary observations into ideas, and learning completely useless facts that somehow become useful later.
Maybe that’s why I became an Art Director.
I’m curious by default, slightly obsessed with details, and always looking for a more interesting way to see things.
Welcome to my zoo.
